Insight to Media Course: Special rate for MPA members

- Do you know how media buyers are taught to assess your product? Learn to speak ‘their language’!

This core course is designed for intermediate-level media planners, buyers and sales representatives who want to obtain a more thorough understanding of planning and buying principles.

Covers the fundamentals of planning and buying a variety of traditional and digital media channels, negotiation skills and how to use research to inform your channel recommendations.

Insight to Media is a practical planning and buying course and class participation is actively encouraged.

Ideal participants:      Sales representatives with 1 to 3 years’ industry experience.

Course covers media research, theory and practice of planning and buying across all media (tv, newspapers, mags, radio, out-of-home, mail, online and mobile), media negotiation skills.

Magazine module content (run on the same day as newspaper module) includes:

1/. The role of magazines – the market, trends, usage, strengths, weaknesses, tools to gain insights into readers

2/. Selecting the right titles – research / methodologies, measurement and costing, building a schedule

3/. Beyond the full page colour – creative examples (NZ & International) and product samples, integrating and extending the magazine opportunity

4/. Negotiating and maximising value – understanding the measures of success

5/. Practical exercise – using paper printouts of info to design a schedule to meet a brief
