Journalism Online, a corporate model aiming to assist publishers monetise content is to represent more than 500 newspaper, magazines and other sites.
Journalism Online has signed 176 dailies as affiliate partners in the U.S.A reports Editor& Publisher magazine.
Publishing affiliates will be able to select their own pay models. Journalism Online is offering a variety of ways to do that including technology that allows for micropayments, sampling, the ability to turn off the system at will, and the ability to convert users from micropayments to a subscription model. The animated newspapers of the Harry Potter books will come a step closer next month with the appearance of the world’s first video magazine advert.

The first-ever video advertisement will be published in a traditional paper magazine in September.
The video-in-print ads will appear in select copies of the US show business title Entertainment Weekly.

After collecting more than 150,000 photos from readers since it launched its Your Shot project in June 2006, National Geographic said it will publish a special edition Your Shot issue, featuring more than 100 of those images, selected by the magazine’s editors. It’s the magazine’s first special edition made up entirely of reader-submitted photos….
